Progress in research on nylon flame retardant masterbatch project

In recent years, with the improvement of environmental protection awareness, environment-friendly halogen-free flame retardants have become the trend of flame retardant technology development. Greening of flame retardant materials has increasingly become an important non-tariff barrier and technical barrier in international trade. The EU has issued directives such as WEEE and ROHS, requiring all electronic and electrical equipment put into the EU market to meet the environmental protection standards required by the EU. In order to protect people's lives and property, China has made stricter requirements for wall insulation materials in document 65 issued in 2011. China is a big material country. Polymer materials play a very important role in the whole industry. Therefore, the development of green flame retardant technology of polymer materials is a very key issue.


In 2010, Ningbo Institute of Material Technology and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Zhejiang Fenghong New Materials Co., Ltd. co-founded "Zhongke-Fenghong Functional Organic Clay Engineering Technology Research and Development Center", aiming at developing the preparation technology of flame retardant functional clay and its application in polymers. Since its establishment, under the leadership of Li Juan and Xue Lixin, the research work on green flame retardant masterbatch for nylon 6 has been carried out. After more than one year's research, we have mastered the technology of fire retardant modification of clay, successfully obtained two kinds of fire retardant functional clay, and developed the special green flame retardant functional masterbatch for nylon 6. Under the condition that the flame retardant content is less than 10%, the LOI reaches 29 and the vertical combustion reaches V-0 grade. Due to the decrease of flame retardant content, other properties of flame retardant nylon material have been effectively improved. Compared with similar products on the market, it has the advantages of high efficiency and low cost. It is estim
